Still Not a Blog Believer?
Here is a video about the benefits of educational blogging created by second grade teachers and students.

  1. I absolutely love the quote about not teaching today as we have in the past. I feel so strongly about this. Students are different now than they were in the past, just as my generation learned differently than my parents' generation. As time progresses, so do ideas, plans, and ways of grabbing students' attention. We need to use all of the tools that we have in order to be successful reaching children. There is so much available to them today that it is easy to lose their focus. We need to meet them where they are, not where we were. Very powerful video.

  2. The video was a great example of how blogging is benefiting students. One student mentioned that it helped her reading abilities. One also wrote how blogging enables them to talk to others around the world. Due to technology, student access to resources is unlimited. We can't continue to teach like in the past using traditional methods.

  3. The video was a great resource to use. The quote was very truthful about if we teach students how we did long ago, we would rob them of their future. This is extremely truthful. There are so many useful technologies that can be used in the classroom that keep students focused and excited about learning. In one of the slides, it looks like a child wrote that blogging helped them meet other friends around the world. I just wrote a blog entry about "key-pal's" and how they are the new "pen-pals" of this generation. Key-Pals actually goes one step further and allows students to communicate with each other around the world. Classrooms can even send videos now to show other students their culture.
